Foster Grandparent Program

When your child comes home after a day at Encompass and says, "Grandma read me a story before lunch today!," believe them!  They are talking about Grandmas and Grandpas who are part of our Foster Grandparent Program.  This program joins together two segments of the population - seniors and children.

Foster Grandparents spend their time not only reading to the children, but also playing games with them, rocking them, and helping them with special projects.  Foster Grandparents and children form a unique bond and enjoy spending quality time together.  What a win-win-win relationship for Encompass, the children, and seniors!

The Foster Grandparent Program provides seniors with a stipend for and mileage reimbursement to offset the cost of volunteering.  Encompass children, staff, and parents appreciate them for giving love and attention to children and providing children at seven Encompass Early Education and Care Centers with an all-around grandparent role model.

If you are interested in volunteering for the Foster Grandparent  Program or would like more information, please call Katharine Kulkoski at (920) 469-0283 ext. 110 or email KKulkoski@encompasseec.org.
